Brenda,
Which census years do you already have for your William Cochran family?
They've been very easy, but still no luck so far with finding Lida's parents
in either North or South Carolina.
Do you know if Lida's brothers and sisters were younger than her or older?
Is it possible that any were born prior to the 1870 census?

Rose,
The only Arch Bell I can find who had a daughter named Ella was enumerated
in 1870 Sumter County, Alabama, as black, with a wife named Mary and
daughters, Cora, age 13, and Ella, age 12. All these folks were born in
Alabama, and I don't find any connection to North Carolina at all.
If that is the year and state you are looking for, please post that request
to the Alabama census lookup list. So your request doesn't get
automatically deleted, you should put the year, county and surname in the
subject
Elizabeth,
I could not find him anywhere as head of household in NC in 1920. I looked
at all households for Halifax and Warren Cty thinking he was still at home
with parents, but still could not find him. I tried "Spencer" thinking a
poorly placed comma could look like an "r" and still could not find him.
Sorry,

Hi Linda in Georgia
Thanks once again, Linda.
The 1850 Census for William and Leah Patterson gives us lots more children
than we had before! And, as usual, gives us some more questions. But that's
the fun of genealogy!

Looking for Steven L. Williams and parents, father is possibly another Steven

Linda,
Thank you very much for your time and effort to send this to me, I

Hey, Rose.
Are you asking for a lookup for Archibald Bell in North Carolina, or in
Alabama?
What year do you need?
Linda in Georgia
Reminder - Subject line should read - Year/County/SURNAME - thanks.

Hi Linda,
Mark D. Stamper born NC circa 1873 going by census of 1900/
I am awaiting someone to check the 1900 NYC brooklyn census, since I
cannot get out on the server tocheck the parents birthplace that
hopefully he answered for this census (rather than say his wife)
Mildred born NY c1874 parents await answer vs. census; I know the answer
though
Amy, Ellen, Mark and Lucy all born in NY.
Lucy H and Mark D Stamper were listed as parents of Robert H.Stamper in
RHS obitary . Robert H. Stamper died in 1907, at
A Jas. WEST age 45 and over was head of household possibly Sampson Co., NC
1810. In his household with him were 1 slave and 1 female. Jas. was also in
other census known as James WEST.
Thanks for the lookup.
Fran
Elizabeth,
I don't find any Spences indexed at all in Warren, but several in Halifax.
Only one Allen Spence indexed in the entire state, and he was enumerated in
Halifax - aged 67, born VA. None of the other Spences indexed in 1920
Halifax as heads of household included an Allen or Aaron of any age.
Sorry I wasn't able to help. Hopefully someone else on the list will have
better luck.

I have had absolutely no luck finding any of them (Abbotts or Stampers other
than MD) in 1880. My best guess is that Lucy remarried and Robert wound up
enumerated in 1880 with the wrong surname. I didn't find Robert nor Lucy
indexed as Abbotts, and I can't find him anywhere in the US as
Stamper/Stomper/Stampen, etc.
A suggestion I haven't had time yet to accomplish - I searched for all the
Lucy and Lucies indexed in 1880 Franklin County who were near age 32 and
none of those had a son named Robert in the
My gg grandfather name was Archibald Bell, wife name was Mary, Archibald
moved to Alabama were he apparently married my gg grand mother, my grand
mothers name was Ella she was born in AL in the year 1857 or 1856.I
believe Ella had a sister by the name Clara.Archibald was listed in the
1870 census in Alabama.

Would SKS please help me find Frances E. M. "Marion" GARREN age 36 born GA in the 1910 census county unknown.

I'm confused, Dean.
"Lucy H. Abbott as the mother of Robert H. Stamper (born NC died at age
33)".
Was that Robert who died at 33 or his mother, Lucy, and in what year that
that death occur?
Or, if the statement refers to Robert, in what year was he born?
There are three Lucy Abbotts indexed in 1880 North Carolina, but none in
Franklin County. One was a child and the other two were married ladies,
(relationship to HOH "wife"), whose surname was Abbott.
Can I assume you are working backward from 1930, or
