Pam - while I don't recognize your lines here, I have to say that your note
is one of the nicest I've seen, ever - & I've been on line for a long time
now......
My lines from Iredell & Alexander Cos. NC:
1. ALLEN BRUCE b ca 1775 NC - d bef 1850; mar ELIZABETH "BETSY" (GARLICK) b
ca 1785 VA? - d 1873 SC;

Could you look up and see what information you can find on Anna Bella
Morrison? I beleive she died INTESTATE on 10 Dec 1884 in Iredell County,
North Carolina. She may have been the second wife of Thomas H. (Hog Tom)
Morrison (1789-1871 Iredell Co., NC). His first wife was Esther Sharpe
Alexander (1789-1848 Iredell Co., NC) yet when Thomas died there was a
widow mentioned. Her maiden name may have been Wilkerson.
Thanks for whatever you can tell me about her!

Thanks, Linda, if you see anything that is free, that would be great;
however, I'm keeping your email address so that if I can afford more in
depth research at a later date, I'll know who to talk to! Pam

Hi Pam:
The free look ups are for things like marriage records, wills, estate
records when the person can supply the name, date and county so I can easily
access them. For everything else, I have to charge. My rate is $25 per
hour and the total cost depends on how long you want me to search and/or
what you are hoping to find. You can read more about my services at

Dear Linda,
That would be great if you could do a look up for the Milligan family. It
would be mainly James, David, and Forgus. They are listed in the 1790
census, but went to Illinois in about 1827. I don't know if that is still
too early for any records. David married Sarah Stephenson in Iredell and
Forgus married Elizabeth Patterson in Iredell. Her father's name was John
Patterson.
Thanks so much for any help if you are able to.

Hi George:
That's a hard time period to do research in for a variety of reasons. A lot
of the records no longer exist. And a lot of people were just passing
through North Carolina following the land rush and didn't stay here long
enough to own land or be in any records - so it's like they never existed.
To find a child without knowing the names of his parents is almost
impossible. I'm afraid I won't be able to help you any.

Linda, try the 1790 NC census book for Shelley/Sheley. There is an index
and I would think that the name is unusal. At least that would give the
person a possible county. Judy

Hello Linda:
I saw your offer and can't resist asking.
I am looking for the parents of my GG grandmother Matilda Malinda Rector born
abt 1820 NC. She married John N. Warren of Iredell County about 1839. I
have her father narrowed down to Behjamin Rector or Daniel Rector of Iredell
County. I found them in the 1830 Iredell County census, both with a female
between 5-10.
I don't even know what to look for, other than anything with the Rector name.
I don't know when Benjamin and Daniel died, if th

I am researching James Shelley/Shelly who moved from NC to Greene County
Tennessee around 1798. He was born about 1780. I have tax records for him
from Greene County. All of the census shows that he was born in NC. I have
researched him and cannot find his birth place or his parents. I would
appreciate any help on finding James in NC.
Thanks,

Hi Linda:
I'll be glad to look those up for you. The archives charges 10cents per
copy from originals and 25 cents per copy if from microfilm. Some estate
files have just one or two pages, some can be several folders thick and
contain hundreds of pages. If they have huge files, do you want it all, or
just something that names the heirs?

Hi Linda:
The records are filed by county, then alphabetically by surname. So I'll
need the county, full name of the person and date he/she died.
