Just throwing a thought out into the wind,...... Our Jacob BLAIR II was in
Rowan County in 1800, but we can not find any land records, or any other
records to help us other than the census record. We have never been able to
connect him with the other Blair's that were there earlier. So throwing
this thought out there, it might be possible that he lived close to the
edge of the two counties, and actually lived in Iredell?, if so has anyone
ever run across the name BLAIR? thanks, John Blair / The Jacob
Sorry all - my ISP has had terrible problems the last 3 weeks and I keep getting dropped from the list due to undeliverable email. I'm just testing to see if I've been re-subscribed successfully.
Thanks,

Appreciate the comments I am getting back on the BLAIR's.......We have
researched all the BLAIR's of Rowan County, and unless my Jacob was actually
a JAMES at that time or had a different last name, nothing fits. He married
a Margaret Walker, and of course have nothing on Margaret except the
possiblitly whe came from Eastern VA and whose father's name was Edward.

Am looking for info on David Franklin Simmons....he (and a sister, Martha Anne) may have been born Iredell Co. around 1836/37. Parents names perhaps?? Thanks!
John:
I have a nearly complete set of abstracted Iredell County deeds and of the
cemeteries for that county. I found no BLAIRS at all in the cemetery
books. I found only one entry for BLAIR in the deed books and even though
it was not for your Jacob and was later than the 1800 date that you
indicated, I will post it here just in case it is useful to you:
"Deed Book P, page 337. Dated 2 Aug 1828. Robert H. Carson to Sion
Harrington. For the sum of &800, a tract of land lying on the waters of the

Hello,
Adam Lafayette ALLISON (b. 1831 in NC, possibly in Irdell Co.) married
Mary Francis HATCH (b abt 1837 probably in MS) on 4 January 1860 in
Copiah County, MS.
Adam was a printer by trade, and according to the 1860 census for Copiah
Co., MS, Mary was also a printer. I am interested in corresponding with
anyone who might be related to or have information regarding this
family. The following is Adam's application for his civil war pension.
He found on the Confederate side.
Thanks,
Karima
