Slippery Hill Cemetery is about 6 miles from Cranberry just off 19E at Squirrel Creek I believe. Avery is the youngest County in NC formed Feb.1911. If you check 1900 and 1910 census for Mitchell County you should find your families. Grassy Creek is the area between Spruce Pine and Gillespie Gap on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
