I would very much like to correspond with someone who knows this Carpenter family. Charles b. 1895 was the son of Betty Jane Carpenter and Ina Carpenter, his wife, was the daughter of James Carpenter. The families both lived in Linville Twp in the 1900 census, at least.

My 4th great grandmother was Mary (Polly) Ingram, born about 1795 and married to James Harrell. They had a son, James, among other children, I'm sure, andlived in what is now Mitchell County. I believe Mary Polly or her parents were from Avery County. I'd appreciate any information or leads about her or her family.
