Here is an outline descendant chart for the paternal side of Naomi. The

John Shackleford's will of 1734 states "my present wife, ANN". IGI lists
a John SHACKELFORD as marrying Mary LIVINGSTON 1697 in Carteret County,
NC. IGI also lists John Shackleford as marrying Ann Dillard abt 1715. "The
Outer Banks of North Carolina 1584-1958" by David Stick refers frequently
to children of John Shackleford and Ann L
Searching for Harris people from Carteret County NC who moved to Tennessee
(especially Wilson County area), circa 1790 to 1810. Can anyone help?

The only Carteret County records I can find relating to Christopher Lewis
and Annie Sawyer are on two of their children. There is nothing in the
censuses (I have 1790 thru 1920), cemetery book, or marriage bonds and
licences books. I have records of all of the Carteret County Lewis death
and birth certificates, and this is all I found.

I don't think these Bells were from Carteret County.
Some time ago I saw a reference that some of the CSA soldiers who were
captured at Fort Fisher, January 15, 1865, were being transported to Point
Lookout, Maryland, via way of Morehead City. Those that perished on the
train between Wilmington and Morehead City were removed and buried in
Morehead City. Does anyone have know enough about this to comment? This is
the first I have heard of this action. My interest; I have kin, four
brothers, who fought and were captured at Fort Fisher. Three of them turned
