I'm afraid that I have primarily Carteret County records on my computer,
so all I did a search for Shepards and post what I found. My primary interest
in the Shepards is how they may have connected to David Lewis of Carteret
County, who named them as legatees in his will.
Thanks for providing your information. I will combine it with mine.

I note that Mary Sabiston, 44, daughter of Nora Truitt, married W. J. Morgan,
65, son of Theo I. Morgan and Sarah ____, in Newport, NC on May 18, 1899.
This would suggest that John Sabiston died shortly after their marriage
or that they divorced.

>From the marriage records, this appears to be John T. Sabiston, b. 1828,
who was the son of David Simon Sabiston (b. 1780) and Nancy Piver (1800-1860).
He married Hannah B. Murray (1832-1922) of Beaufort, NC on March 02, 1857.
