Hello all,
I'm afraid taking your name off Google is like spitting into the wind.
Here's a listing of the FIRST 3 pages of places one can go for reverse
directory information [from a Google query]. There are more than 12 pages
of these places. Of course, some are repeated, but you get the point.
Anyone who has your address can get the same thing from Mapquest that they
can get from the reverse directories. More people are likely to have your
address than have your phone number. How do you stop that??
Here are the two candidates that we have so far as being the young woman
buried in that grave in the Christian Harbor Cemetery, Hertford County ~ the
one that is marked with the Olive ship parts;

it sure looks like we've got the right young woman who is burried in that

Amazing isn't it!
Another thing I try to do (if the book isn't too expensive) is buy two books and donate one to my local library or to a library where my ancestors were living.
Also, send a brief outline of your family line to every library where you had ancestors and ask them to put it in their "vertical file"---as well as in the State Libraries/Archives.
I also attach one of my genealogy cards to the outline in case someone wants to contact me either by postal mail or email. I haven't learned h
Hi Marianne,
This might be a real good time to remind folks that with Christmas coming up a good gift would be a gift donation to any library that does not offer this service. If everyone in town gave just $1.00 (some could donate more than $1.00---or not buy that "scratch off" one week) and designated the donation be used for the genealogy section of their library---what a genealogy section they would have! There is no one on any list who has a smaller or less access than the library in our town but

Hi Listers,
I want to make sure that each of you are aware of this service by Google.com
which just may be more "help" and information that you care to have made
available about you instantly to the planet. I just ran this search on my

there were no hits, then I ran it on my fax line and got two reference hits
