Listmembers, if anyone has deeds abstracts books, I need help! 30 August 1879, Samuel WEST and Martha, his wife, sold land to Doc SCOTT. I need to know, please, the number of the Deed Book in which that record is to be found. I do have the page number, just neglected to record book number. I appreciate very much a lookup. 3. [NCCUMBER] Jackson Mill [1]
Can anyone tell me were Jackson Mill was during the Civil War in NC? I'm thinking it was around Sampson, Duplin or Wayne Co. This would be the Company D of the 67th Regiment of NCT from 1 March 1864 to the 30 June 1864. The company's Captain was D.A. Cogdell's and they were at Jackson Mill on June 30 1864. I just noticed a refernce in the Cornelius Autry book which provided the maiden name of an ancestor. Henry Clay CARTER b. abt 1844 Cedar Creek, Cumberland county m. Mary Jane MATTHEWS b about 1845 in NC of NC parents. Henry was son of John & Charlotte (EVERETTE or Averitte?) CARTER John was son of John CARTER born about 1770 died Cedar Creek.
