Happy New Year to you!! Wonder if any of these books have James or Francis Mackilwean land deeds? Maybe it lists the land sold by James Mackilwean to Author Dobbs? It seems that Guy said his family owned some of that land? Francis had several plantations, one was purchased from James Reed and was his residence when he died about 1774. Another was purchased form Samuel Lambert and one was Old Ford on the Great Contentnea Creek. IG Ila Grey White igw@earthlink.net > [Original Message] > From:

13. [NCLENOIR] Lenoir Deed Book 5 [1]
Guy has posted the re-registered etc deeds for Book 5. Not as much in this book but Book 7 is going to be VERY enlightening. Lots of 1850 deeds referenced and at least up to page 250 almost every deed is either re-registered or refers back. That book will probably be run in the HGS newsletter as opposed to posting it. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/nc/lenoir/lenoirdeeds.htm

Elizabeth Fish was md to Nathan Wetherington/Witherington as proven by the Marriage Bonds in Craven Co according to what I have been told.
