Looking for ANY info on William and James Irby, probably brothers. The
surname was sometimes referred to as Yerby or Yearby.
William Irby was listed on the following records in Montgomery Co., NC:
1790 Census
1800 Census (Children were counted but no names
on listed on census at that time.)
1780 Tax Record
A William Irbey was listed on State of NC census between 1778-1787 in
Montgomery Co.
A James Irby also shows up on the 1790 Montgomery Co., NC Census Re

James.
I recently obtained a copy of the 1786 Mecklenburg County estate settlement
papers for Samuel Alexander. The following individuals purchased items
from the estate:
