Hi Cathy,
Rumor has it I am a descendent of John's too(if I can prove my ancestor, John,
I am looking for information on the children of Dr. Thomas Harris and
Elizabeth C. Locke Harris. They were married in 1831 and lived in Charlotte.
There were 2 daughters and then 2 sons. The youngest son died and is buried
with the parents in Old Settlers Cemetery. The surviing son was born in 1838.
The parents died in 1844 and 1848. Who were the daughters? Who raised
these three children after 1844? The son Robert Locke Harris attended Tulane
Medical School and served in the Confederate Hospital in
Hi, I lived on the West side of Meck. for 17 yrs. Recently moved to
Matthews, but when we retire, we are definitely leaving Meck County. One
of my daughters went to Harding High School, the other to Carolina
Christian. Glad that is over with, they make all these big plans with the
schools and they still rank so low nationwide. Bugs me. Have a good day
in hot and humid Beaufort, not much better here. P Jacobs

Wake-Up Call: if you have not shown these articles to the county officials in
your county, now would be a good time before some other officials unthinkingly
do something like this. Get the County Historical Society involved if you
have one.

Searching for parents of Mary H. Morrow. She was born about 1813 and married
Thomas H. Blackley (Blakely) according to a marriage bond dated September 20,
1836. By the 1850 Mecklenburg Co. census, she was listed as "insane". She
apparently died before 1862 since Thomas H. Blakely remarried Jane Gilden
according to a marriage bond dated April 3, 1862. This Mary H. Morrow is my
direct ancestor on a line that has been a continuing problem for me. Any help
would be appreciated.
thanks
