Cathy Jennings, I asked my friend about your relatives and told him your name. He is Ralph McCall and was so surprised. He said you were cousins. How much information do you have? We can send you what he has. He said thanks a lot for the death certificate that you sent and he will get in touch with you soon. Wm. Hucks father was Thomas and his mother was Sophia Metzler. Jennie's mother was Alice Foard, , her grandmother, Amanda Belk. We havent done any research for a while, we stay so busy. Nice to hear fro

The Wyatts were in the Rowan County area before the Revolutionary War. They had land on the Davidson County side of the Yadkin River, then gradually moved down into Rowan County. Some of my Wyatts married Parks, and Briggs. P Jacobs _____________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. 3. Re: [NCMECKLE-L] Mecklenburg, NC and VA connected names [1]
Joanne, The Andrew KENNEDY of Record in Augusta w/Joseph is not the Andrew KENNEDY in Luenburg Co. This Andrew (one of Dr. Curtis KENNEDYS family is a "reported" probable brother to William and son of Joseph). I have not seen the whole line, but I believe that Gay or Ed may have record of it. Old Andrew of Luenburg died in 1748 estate and Andrew of Rockbridge fought in the Rev. I will have to go check my stuff and see if I have the information, but again NO connection to Luernburg Co. VA or NC KENNEDYS t

9. Re: [NCMECKLE-L] Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church [1]
Ken I saw your note about your list. I am looking for the surnames of husband and wife. Edward LOAFMAN & Sarah PERKINS. Edward's family goes from his marriage to sarah in 1810 ,Caswell County, NC, back to another Edward and brother John & sister Elizabeth being bound out by THE church(unamed) after father William died. This goes back into the early 1720-30's. LOAFMAN is a very uncommon name. I would appreciate anything you might find on the name. It is often spelled LOFFMAN,as well. Thanks for willing

Does anyone have relatives that are from or near the Clear Creek Comunity in Mecklenburg Co., NC? I have alot of relatives from the area. Reeder, Long, Ferguson, Estridge. Rev. Benjamin Samuel Reader is buried there, I am lead to believe he founded the church or at least help start it. Does anyone know the history of the Church or area? It is near where Mecklenburg, Union, and Cabarrus Counties meet. Please help if you have any information. I was also wondering if anyone knew the migration paterns of

J.B. Alexander's book can be ordered from Southern Historical Press, P.O. Box 1267, Greenville, SC 29601; or by calling their 1-800-233-0152 and using your credit card number. In 1997, the book was $42.50 plus shipping. There are too many Polks and Morrisons to list; no McLarty names; one Broome-an Allen Broom who is on a list of soldiers of the War of 1812-1814; and J.Y. Weddington on a list of soldiers from NC Troops from Mecklenburg County. My 3rd great grandmother was Permelia Broom(e), daughter of Ti

The name may have been spelled Purser by this family at one time. In what is now Goose Creek Township of Union County, NC there was a John Purser who had a homestead between Goose Creek and the Rocky River Road. I'm not familiar with the family other than that John Purser was a neighbor of my ancestor James Orr. The Purser family may have attended Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Mint Hill, Mecklenburg County, as did many who lived in that neighborhood. There are Purser descendants in Mint Hill and M

Great Hints From a N.C. Genealogy Workshop 1...If you want to get more respect and help from the courthouse clerks....always dress in business attire...carry a briefcase...and NEVER head straight for the marriage and will records....ALWAYS look at all land records first!!!! (Don't laugh, I tried this in three N.C. County courthouses and the clerks about fell over one another trying to help me!) Months before, it was hard to get a answer from anyone while wearing jeans and sneakers. Must have thought I wa

Janie: There may be some relationship here on the Broome side. The 1870 census for Union Co., Sandy Ridge Township indicates: Hiram Broome, age 56 years Emily 37 Albertine 18 JUDGE Broome (My Grandfather) There is a definite relationship between the Helms and Broome's. Are you sure that your "Hiram Helms" was in fact a Helms. Please advise. Thanks Bill W. (Billprog@AOL.com)

There is much info on the Harrises here in the local library, but I doubt they will do research for you. Harris family very prominent here, roads are named after them, etc. Even an area called Harrisburg. Recently while grading for a new Mall, a Harris family graveyard was found and moved. If you will be specific, perhaps I can help you when I go back to the library. Thanks, Joanna, for the records. This doesn't exactly prove anything, but if the SARAH BEASLEY below IS the same SARAH who married ROBERT BEASLEY, then it seems that they had to break the naming pattern because perhaps BOTH had fathers named JAMES. Maybe we can find out more. I am not sure who JOHANNA BEASLEY who witnessed the will of JAMES LOADMAN might be. Perhaps the wife of ROBERT BEASLEY 2 because I don't know who SHE was...or the wife of FRANCIS BEASLEY whose wife I don't have in my database. I will
