There is a book in the New Hanover Public Library (upstairs in the history and local section) that lists the Bellview cemetery "residents". The cemetery is in deplorable shape unless it has had a real transformation in the last couple years. . 6. Re: [NCNEWHAN] Lynch.... [1]
Teresa, Thanks so much. That does indeed sound like the correct family, because I have Stephen's father as "Jastin." The first letter could easily have been misread at some point. I will see if I can access a copy of that book. Joanne ________________________________________________________________________ Interested in getting caught up on today's news? Have been to that one last fall. I had a book that had listing that I purchased from ONHGS I did find Mary J Motte grave. She was the daughter of Thomas R and Mariah William. Her marriage was to Samuel J Walker and he died in 1856. Six months later she married Andrew J. Motte or Mott. She had children by him. We could not find the Walker graveyard even though it was near Moore Battle Creek. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Margie Kye" To: Sent

Joanne, There is a book on the Malpass Family in the New Hanover County Library. Lynn, Take a look at this website. I use it for my Mohr/Moore that came out of the New Hanover and Pender County area. There is a Charles Thomas Croom listed on this site. Even if it is not the right one he may be able to help. I have contacted him a few times back about 4-5 years ago and he was very helpful. You may get lucky and go back several generations. He shows him as married to Beulah Anderson but no dates are given although the death and marriage of the parents looks correct. http://www.johnc

Mary..........thanks.............I guess I could have found this in my own papers if I had looked far enough!.............I did make a quick check of the 1850 and 1860 census (for New Hanover) and did not find a Samuel (1850) or Mary (Mott in 1860.) I descend from Edward's brother, James, who moved with the older Samuel to Lauderdale MS. There were at least two Walker families in early New Hanover..........possibly three, if William of Moore's Creek did not belong to one of the more prominent families....

Turn down Middle Sound Loop Rd, when you get to the school turn right, go down about 1/2 mile-1 mile on the right and between the development of Providence and Demarest you will see about 4 headstones. I am not sure if there are any more in there, but a couple are high enough that you shouldn't miss them.
