Dear Audrey~
If you are able and don't mind, would you check your Northampton book
for a Pheriby or Pheriba Wilson. She likely was born somewhere in that area
in 1821. In 1842 she was in Pulaski County, Georgia where she married
William Lancaster. She may have been the daughter of a William Wilson.
Many, many thanks. Lila

Thank you for your offer to look up names.
Does your book contain anything on the name Dunning, (Duning, Dunen, Dunnin) or
Britt (Brett, Brit.)?
Appreciate you,

Jeanne,
I have Ms. Hofmann's will abstracts for Halifax Co. (years 1758-1824) and
Northampton Co. (years 1759-1808), as well as Mr. Grimes' abstracts which
cover most counties of NC from 1690-1760.
Any/all of the indices are too long for me to type, but if you'll tell me
which book and provide some given names for the common surnames, I'll check
for you and post here for the benefit of anyone interested.
Best,
Jennifer

Anyone out there ever seen it or perhaps have a copy????

I have the FTM CD "North Carolina Wills 1695-1900". This CD includes
the index to NC wills, as well as two books of abstracts, 1690-1760 &
1760-1800, and the book NC Wills and Inventories. These are the only
listings for a John Spivey:
John Spivey - Wayne Co. 1805 (orig. only, no wb listed, NC Archives,
Raliegh.)
John F. Spivey Bertie Co NC 1763 WB A, pg 30. Mentions Holmes,
Frederick and Ann.
Dec 10, 1735 - a John Spivey was executor for the will of Joseph
Thomas in Bertie Prct. NC.
In Chowan County
Joanne,
No MINGIA or variants in the Northampton book (years 1759-1808) or the
Halifax book (years 1758-1824). The Grimes book (most counties 1690-1760)
has several MING/MINGE names in the index, but only the actual abstract for
the will of Joseph MING, dated 1 Dec 1750, proved in Apr Ct. 1751 in Chowan Co.
All 3 books have multiple GREEN(E) listings in their indices, but none have
abstracts for a Daniel (or George).
Sorry I couldn't help,

Hi, Teresa--Do you have a listing in you will books for a Davis who had a
daughter Mildred who married Andrew "Dew" Jenkins, so her name could be in
her father's will as Mildred Davis or Mildred Jenkins. I would greatly
appreciate your looking. Thank you.
