Has anyone heard of the Rolen Ruppe Cemetery? I heard that there are Gibbs family members buried there. It might be on private property. Thank you, Barbara Channell

Will accept anything on any BENJAMIN LANKFORD, born between 1790
1800, in
North Carolina. Or South Carolina.
Compatriot SFC John
Andrew Thompson married Betsy Lankford. Their son was William Melvin
Thompson, of Saluda, NC, my great-great-grandfather.
I saw the message posted about "Lankford and other families" and
wondered whether anyone has further information on the parents of Betsy
Lankford. Presumably "Betsy" is a nickname for "Elizabeth".

I don't know if it will help, but in "Sketches of Polk County" by Sadie
Patton there is one mention of a Deck: McSwain Deck, enlisted April 30,
1864 in NC Company C, 70th Regiment. She credits this information to "Moore's
Roster of North Carolina Troops of the Confederacy".
Good hunting,
Patricia
Ckecked the "Roll Call". there are no LANKFORD.

Arrena Ballard (1824-1924) married Melvin Thompson (?-1911). Both are
buried in the cemetery of Friendship Baptist church, Saluda, NC. They are
my great-great-grandparents. I presume that Ballard was her maiden
name and I would appreciate any information on her Ballard ancestors.
Melvin Thompson may have moved to Saluda from Mills River, NC. I don't
know anything about his parents and would also appreciate information
about them.
