Searching for information on Nathaniel Tatum, a Baptist preacher in VA during
the 1770's, who moved to Guilford Co. (NC) and became associated with Cross
Roads Baptist Church there. Apparently he was not ordained until after his
move to NC. Sincerely, and thanks, Bill Simpson

"Hello again Cousins!"
Am hopeful that some of you who read through the following might
possibly be able to identify with one or more of the individuals
listed, and if so, enter into an exchange which might possibly
enable us to identify family links between any two or more family
surnames included below. Please do advise if you are able to
identify with any of these militiamen. My family's Henry CRAIG
and his brother, James CRAIG, are both found in the below.

This is my Christmas message to everyone.
The "W" in Christmas
In order to make Christmas a calm and peaceful experience, I decided to cut
back on nonessential obligations - extensive card writing, endless baking,
decorating, and even overspending. Yet still, I found myself exhausted,
unable to appreciate the precious family moments, and the true meaning of
Christmas.
My son, Nicholas, was in kindergarten that year. It was an exciting season
for a six year old. For weeks, he'd been memorizing song

Hello listers,
I am looking for help from as many of you as possible. My problem of a brick wall is no different than many others with one. I thought perhaps posting to a state list rather than county might help me find some info.
I am looking for parents for the following two brothers. The first one was born in NC. county unknown. Henry Sugg/Suggs, b. 1795-99 NC.
m. Rachel Unknown before 1819 possibly in TN.
So far no records to verify. Still looking. First born son they named Allen b. 1819 Lincoln
Rev. Joseph Murphy (1734-1816), the great VA-NC Baptist minister, is thought
to have died and been buried in Surry County, NC. Could anyone please give me
directions to the cemetery in which he is buried? Thanks. Bill Simpson
I've been to several cemeteries in Surry County over the last few years and
none of them have dates that old as I recall. In fact, the only ones with
really "old" dates are the from the Moravians of Bethania, Old Salem, and
Bethabara all of which are in Forsyth County.
If anyone has an old cemetery they know about, I'd appreciate a response too
since I love to visit them. Will take photos for you as well.

the name Bell -- that is what it sounds like when you say it, but in VA it is Beall. Also check Prince George's County Maryland.
Zadock Beall was well known for his military service during the French and Indian War -- could be a descendent.

Over 100 soldiers have been added to the North Carolina database of Civil
War soldiers. Also, we have added data and tombstone photos of Civil War
soldiers buried in Oakwood Confederate Cemetery along with some photos of

My Christmas Wish: Santa's database!
You figure he's known where every child has lived, at all times in their life
(at least on dec 24th), much better than a census every 10 years!
And he knew who their parents were, and their every little wish. Think of how
interesting it would be to go back through time, what would my gggrandfather
wish for for christmas as a 6 yr old child? What might he have left out for
santa and his reindeer, if anything at all? Depends on the country I suppose?
Was he naughty
