I am looking for information on CHAPPEL BOWEN. He is listed in the 1850
Forsyth County, North Carolina census as being 38 years old and born in
Virginia. I believe that he is the uncle of ANCEL YANCY BOWEN.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Steve and all;
I don't think it is a change. The name of the city may not be known
or the county may not be known to you when you enter the city/state.
You may be able to make a guess, but that would not be very accurate
in the long run. I always intend to go back and add the city or
county, but usually I don't remember to do it.
Anyway, that's my excuse.

I'm looking for any ancestors or relations to these Taylors in North Carolina.
I'm specially interested in Orange County, NC, Perquimans, NC, and Carteret
County, NC. I have over 21,000 names in a database of primarily Carteret
County families that I'd be happy to look into for any names. If you don't
know that your family is from Carteret County, PLEASE don't ask, since I know
I'll be overwhelmed with surname searches from inside the county. Thanks in
advance to anyone who can share or elaborate upon th

Hello and I hope I'm doing this right (this is my first mailing on Rootsweb
Moses-L). Please be forgiving!
My name is Carolyn Moses Camidge and I am "attempting" to research my
ancestry - beginning primarily with my grandfather, Gaither A. Moses. I know
very little - only that:
* he was born around 1890 (possibly in NC, perhaps Burke County - or may
have been born in upstate South Carolina or even in Tennessee - I just don't
know!)
* he was born to Dave and
Hello Jan,
According to the North Carolina Gazetteer, Montford Point is referred to Mount
Pleasant Point which extends e Onslow County into White Oak River about 20 feet
above the water. Named for the pre-Revolutionary plantation of Emanuel Jones.
Also know as Montford Point in recent years.

Could someone who has access to cemetery lists, check and see if they
can find when and where Addleisa Dover died. She died in
Robbinsville, NC. Not sure of the date but her husband remarried and
had a child in Sep 1903, so I would guess she would have died about
1900 to 1902. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ruth Underwood

There has not been a date set but it is going to happen according to the
ladies where I go in Jackson, TN. One of htem is going out to Salt Lake
City soon to take some "internet" classes so maybe will know more soon.
It'll take a lot of work to get all that data on the internet. Don't know
for sure yet how much they are going to make available and whether or not
it will be free of charge.

I have seen some responses in answer to Jim's questions but I'm not
sure that he has the proper answers yet. Pee Dee River is as has been
discussed, however, Jim asked about Pee Dee, N.C. which implies that it
is a town or place. There is, according to The North Carolina Gazetteer

One of my ancestors, John TORREY (TORRIE, TORIE, TORRY, TORY) served as a
soldier in the Continental Army from North Carolina during the Revolutionary

This information is from the "Lumber River Scots and Their Descendants"

I am trying to locate information on a HARVEY MALONE, born in 1802, more than likely
in NC. He married the second time to a Charlotte [Lotte] Starks on February 27,
1837 in Orange County, NC. His first wife's name was Martha, children by her -
Candis, born 1833 [my g-g-grandmother] and Martha J. Information indicates he was
half-Indian, possibly Cherokee.
Would appreciate any information on him.
Thanks
