I have an even MORE pertinent question -- WHY do people insist on posting religious related stuff to non religious mailing lists (regardless of whether or not they have checked validity)??? Uh, because they have absolutely NO respect for other people who might not share their narrow viewpoints and no sense of appropriate behavior?? Yep. That must be it. ;-) ...snipping religious diatribe.... I think those navy blue sta
2. WADE surname project [1]
Hi Folks, I have organized a surname group for researchers of the WADE surname. The group will use a combination of traditional source document genealogy and genetic genealogy (DNA) to further our genealogies. The objective is to sort out the WADE lines and hopefully find where they connect. All those who descend from WADE lines, including those with variant spellings of the surname, such as WAID, WAIDE, McWADE, etc., are encouraged to join. We currently have seven members in the project and growin

7. Re: [NCROOTS] WOW Remember Don't Buy These! [1]
Why do people post these things before checking them out. No, they have to send them and cause more flooding of the bandwidth on the internet with stamps that probably have not existed in the post offices in a couple of years. The originators of emails like this are people who are just trying to stir up trouble. This stamp was issued 3 years ago, before 9-11. For more information see http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/eidstamp.asp . Snopes.Com should always be checked before forwarding ANY

Well, there's a stamp that commemorates two Muslim festivals, but a good-sized chunk of this isn't terribly accurate -- starting with the fact that the stamp has been out for three years already. http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/eidstamp.asp For what it's worth, it might be worth noting that these attacks on Americans were not MUSLIM attacks, but were TERRORIST attacks by extremist groups. The teachings of Islam actually prohibit these activities, just like the teachings of Christianity and Judais

Hello North Carolina Researchers: For those of you who have a deep interest in how, when and where your Surnames were formed I would like to direct you to 5 new pages we have recently added to our web site. Many researchers have for years believed that all ancestors with the same Surname were at some point related. That is simply not true. When you get back to proving your pre 1500s ancestors you will discover that there are in fact many Surnames that have passed through many families that have no re
