Hi List,
I am looking for the archives of the obits. of the Andrews,NC newspaper. I am
looking for the Obituary of Mary Elaine Stewart, she lived in Topton, NC,
died Aug. of 1969. Her maiden name was Self, but her first marriage was to
Elisha Woody, they were married in 1908. She is my grandmother, and I was to
young at the time to have an interest in this sort of thing..and my family
can't find a copy.
Thanks for any help!
Carolyn M. Woody-Fuller
Ann,
Yes, I'm getting up there in age, too.
The Cheek family joined our family tree. I'd like help in identifying them
and getting data on their ancestors and descendants.

Carolyn,
I just happened to be going to the library at Murphy, N.C. on the day you
inquired about this obit and I looked it up on microfilm. It was the second
page on the roll of film. It probably took me 2 minutes to find it.
I don't know where you are located, but there is an archive in Asheville at
Southwestern college and probably at the Old Buncombe County Genealogy
Library. The historical society in Murphy has bound copies of the
newspapers and the library has them on microfilm.
If you are not near
