Oh, dear, if Congress gets a hold of it, it may not be on the
6th anymore. It might be on the nearest MONDAY!! Guess
I will have to watch my calendar. For now, I will put the 6th.
Thanks,
Marge

The date may be marked FOR you. A Bill has been introduced in Congress and
passed in the House to make the Day not just a calendar celebration, but a
Federal Holiday, amongst others of sometimes lesser distinction. The Bill has
broad support in the Senate. Watch out for your 2006 calendar....there may just
be a new holiday de
Four years ago, I hit a dead end with my great-great-grandfather. His name
was Murdoch MCLEAN and he was born around 1793 in Cumberland County, North
Carolina, in what is now current-day Harnett County. He married Catherine MCNEILL
McLean, 10 January 1825 (have found the North Carolina marriage bond), and had
the following children with her: Mary McLean, born ca. 1825; Christian McLean,
born ca. 1828; John McLean, born ca. 1830; Flora McLean, born ca. 1834; and
Malcom A. McLean, born 13 October 1839 (
Hello Jack and Iryna: I am aware of James McDonald, b. 1763 from Skye
who moved with wife Widow McQueen (also originally from Skye) who
settled for a time in Moore County. He is also reported to have lived
in Richmond County which is south of Moore. Some sources in Richmond
County believe he first settled in Richmond Co. and has descendants in
Rockingham, NC and Ellerbe, NC. I'm currently working on trying to find
a link to the Moore Co. McDonalds. Allegedly he had a son named Daniel
who was a patriot

Hello Listmembers,
Does anyone know of any McDONALDs that were in NC from 1760 to 1785? We are
trying to find the family for my James McDONALD, b. some time between 1760
to 1770. Don't know who his wife was however I believe all their children
were born
in GA. The first being born abt. 1805 in GA. The names of the children I
know of were Green, Jemima, Middleton, possibly Martha, & several younger
children (names unknown to date).

Hi Doug,
Thanks for the reply. Looks like interesting information, but I don't see
the connection to NC McDONALD line that moved to GA. What am I missing? Your
saying to look at the McDonalds in Flordia to find a possible "link" to our
McDonald line that came to live in GA. before 1804? Ok, I'll look into that,
perhaps we may find a link. Thank you very much for the suggestion. It may
lead us to new doors to open, Doug. We appreciate the help!
Jack

Due to the results of some DNA test results indicating a close relationshp between previously "unconnected"
McInnises, I am going to vastly broaden my McInnis research base. These individuals do not know how they connect to one another but all have known ancestors from the NC/SC counties so heavily settled by the Scots during the 18th and 19th centuries. Known counties were Cumberland, Moore, Richmond, Robeson, Bladen in NC and Marion, Marlboro in SC. In the process of trying to find these connections, I mi

Hi Pat,
Sorry, there are no BEANs listed in the index of "Kindred Murrays" A Story of

Anyone searching Scottish families should check out Walton County Florida.
Many families moved to that area about 1824. There were many "Mc" families.
