I am trying to find the birthplace and ancestors for Martin KENNEDY. I am
not sure if he was born in America, Scotland or Ireland. He married a Sarah
or Sally, and had some children, my ancestor being their son Samuel KENNEDY
who was born about 1790 in Wilkes County, North Carolina,He married Nancy A.
Penley who was also from Wilkes County, North Carolina. He died in Wayne
County, Kentucky in 1862. The family seems to have been Protestant from
early on, which makes me think they are Scots Irish or Scottish.

Hello all,
Looking for the parents, ancestors, siblings and descendants of Eliza
McIntire, born ca 1808 in NC (per 1850 census), married William S (Step?)
Roberts 03 July 1830 in Rutherford County, NC. Wm born to Step and Nancy
(unknown) Roberts 09 July 1805, also in NC (seems likely it was Rutherford
or Lincoln County, but no verification of that). Wm and (presumably) Eliza
are found on the 1840 Rutherford Co Census at page 284. The are both
definitely on the 1850 Cleveland Co, NC census (Cleveland be

this brings up a good point for those of us out of town/first timers. Where
do we park? Is there a shuttle bus from some other parking facility?

Researching Daniel & Jennette McArthur. My GGGGG Grandparents. I know they were married in Scotland (Islay) in 1774 and settled in Robeson County. Daniel is buried at Longstreet Cemetery and Jennette is buried at Antioch Cemetery. Trying to find out anything about their parents, siblings and descendents. I have a copy of the McArthur Records compiled by Thomas Eugene Sikes.
My line:

It is my understanding that Angus Doddridge (A. D.) Currie (1848-1938) wrote
a regular column for the Laurinburg (NC) Exchange in the late 1920's and
early to mid 1930's about his early recollections with an emphasis on the
Civil War and Reconstruction. Has anyone attempted to gather these articles
together and publish them? Or have they all been copied from the paper and
compiled for reference purposes? He also wrote for some other local papers
in this area of North Carolina but I do not have their names.
Hi!
Is there someone on this list who lives in or near Laurinburgh, NC who would be willing to locate a copy of a will and/or estate papers of my great grandfather and make a copy for me? If so, please reply as to the cost. Thanks. Walter
I think we can always use a good laugh :>)

For those of you attending the Highland Games in Red Springs this year, I
respectfully request that no one park in my driveway, or along the sidewalk.
Last year was horrid when returning from my sons football game. Friends that
I had allowed to park in my yard were unable to do so because cars were
parked on the sidewalk. I was also told that someone parked in the driveway
because no one was home. The street is narrow, and the Red Springs Police
don't make it a one way for this one day. Too many
