Meeting Reminder! Saturday, 22 January 2005
NC Triangle TMG Users Grou
Paul,
I hope to make the meeting on Saturday.... depending on the
weather. I do not get out in ICE/SNOW/etc.
I have not yet gotten v.6 but plan to order the CD this month
and also GenSmarts. My laptop screen is SCREWY so will not
be able to install anything until I get a new PC. When the
screen started acting weird, I made a full backup to external
disk.
I also want to get the companion that will run on my NEW
Pocket PC. Waiting to hear that they have updated to run along
side of V.6.
Hope the weather is n

I did not receive the message unless I deleted it by accident. I don't
usually do that, though. I have not upgraded to 6 yet. Will all the
instructional video/cd's still be relevant since they were written for 5? I
don't know when I will ever view them. :-) Someday, like next month.

Paul,
I did not receive the original message. Thanks.

One of the most complicated features of TMG...
I cannot stress enough that Lee's book is a must have when messing
with sentence structures!!! Unfortunately I think it is sold out at
present.
I have found the following web pages that have tips, the second
specifically has sentence structure tips. If anyone has specific
questions after reading these tips (they are better explanations than
I can come up with) please email me and we can try and figure it out
together.

I don't believe I had received your e-mail.
I plan to attend on the 22nd. [No questions, yet... I'm still in the
process of upgrading from version 3(!)

About Roles...
Thinking about this last night, I came to the conclusion that when
first customizing Tags is TMG, it is important to label the roles
that
you wish to use in a particular type of document. For a census that
might be head, Spouse, Child, Sibling, DIL, SIL, Lodger, Domestic
etc.
The sentence structure that goes along with those roles could be
customized at a later date if you wish, but the roles you want to
have
established as you add witnesses to the event. That is when you

I plan to attend if the weather permits. Thanks for organizing this meeting
and for the tip about GenSmarts.

Gee, it seems the weather forecast says morning is not the wisest time to
travel between Cary and Chapel Hill, so I'm going to miss our meeting yet
again. I just hate that. Hope to see you in Feb and by then I will have the new
version of TMG. I don't suppose there is any provision for just a one week
delay of our meeting?
Sarah Sheffield
Paul,
I will not be attending today's meeting. I have out-pf-town guests. Please
contact me regarding teaching the input for the census, which should conclude
the roles, tags & sentences instruction series. This last will probably take
2 sessions to complete.
