Hi,
Well the runoff election for National Coordinator winds down today. I
haven't bothered the list with election matters up til now because it
turns so many off. But I hope you will join me in supporting Tim for the
NC position. He has and will provide a calm, sure hand on the helm as we
grow into the new century. I am not subscribed to the "spit ball
lists", as some call them, but rumors surfacing are disturbing. Tim
supports the continued growth of the Project thru the efforts of the
CCs. He knows tha
Hi Fellow Volunteers... This is just to remind everyone that

The Archive TOC pages are linked now to all subject counties. I will
ask
Joy for the last six counties but I will be away for a week to ten days.
I will work the last six when I return.
Trudy Mckean has transcribed and contributed the Marmarth Mail, Slope
County newspaper for the years 1907-1920 to the Archives. Thanks,
Trudy, a job well done. Billings included Slope County for a portion
of those years. Dale, the links for those files can be found at:

Fellow Volunteers... Due to recently forseen Circumstances,
you will not be receiving Run Off Elections Ballots this
evening. The Run Off Election has not been postponed. To
see the reason for this contradictory message please got to
http://vote.rootsweb.com/usgw-nc.html and follow the
directions and PROCEED TO VOTE.
Thanks for understanding,
The Election Committee
To the USgenWeb Advisory Board. The Election Committee has
examined the vote. After our examination we have dropped
2 duplicate votes that somehow slipped through the machine.
This makes the final machine total 332 votes for Tim Stowell
and 320 votes for Fred Smoot. We have also taken a random
sampling and found those votes to be 100% correct.
Then there were 4 (1 for Tim and 3 for Fred) emailed votes,
making the totals 333 for Tim Stowell and 323 for Fred
Smoot.
I certify the vote to be correct

Hi Fellow Volunteers... We really appreciate your patience
and persistence in voting. I thought about making one of my
little speeches about working together, but all of you are
already planning to do just that and make our Project the
best that it can be, right?
Short and sweet, it was close, but we have a winner.

One of my Mom's sisters passed away suddenly around 4 PM this afternoon
(8/4) in Carrollton, Georgia of an apparent heart attack.
The funeral is tentatively set for Saturday so I'll be away Friday until
Sunday evening to see my Mom and go to the funeral.

I've adopted out Cass County. Michelle Savre-Hansen the current Barnes
County CC has now adopted Cass County. Since Cass County is the eastern
neighbor of Barnes County it should dovetail nicely.

Hi,
Subject counties have been uploaded. I have received data for all save
the last six counties. All counties received are formatted and uploaded
but TOC pages await attention. I should have them out in the next day or
so.

If you get a request to locate a name, villiage or township either
current or historic use the Archives Search Engine. We have enough
information there now to pin down most locations and many names. I keep
a copy on my Pembina page for that purpose. Anyone wanting to link to
the engine on their page just use this line of code:

post your query.

Hi,
The RRVGS has sent Funeral records for Carrington, Foster Co., Page,
Cass Co. and Bottineau, Bottineau Co. which are scanned and now online.
You can access the files from the appropriate TOC pages. BTW, just
because the files are in the Archives with a TOC page don't assume you
can't make your own index and link to anything in the Archives. You can
use graphics, tables or whatever, The data is there for all CCs to use
in any way they see fit to help the researchers that visit the county
pages. The Arc

In response to a question recently posed elsewhere in the Project, I
decided to do a review of the 50 states and the District of Columbia to see
approximately how many counties were up for adoption and what servers
provide homes for the Project sites.
What I found in looking at the state sites was a nice variety of
presentations. I found some new ideas to incorporate into my own sites.
Using an old atlas as my guide for number of counties for each state, I
came upon differences in the totals I had and wh
