Actually, the leap second started at 23:59:60 UTC on 31 December 2005 and
2006 had already stared in the Czech Republic. Therefore, they get an
extra second of 1 January 2006.

My gr grandparents, Frantisek and Marie/Mary (nee Sima) Trsek, came to Chicago from Bohemia after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 with their son, Joseph b.c.1866 Bohemia. Frantisek was b.c.1820 Bohemia, d.1875 Chicago. Marie was b.c.1841 Bohemia, d.1895 Chicago.
