The complete Lancaster County, Nebraska WWI Honor Roll book is now online
after more than a year and a half of scanning and transcribing in between other
projects. This book was provided by Pam Mardos Rietsch as a part of the Mardos
Memorial Online Library & NEGenWeb Project Online Library. Thanks everyone for
your patience while I worked on this huge book. I now have the satisfaction
of completing this project and making it available to others. ENJOY!

I am sure that everyone is enjoying getting outside this great time of
year. If you have a free afternoon and are looking for a nice days'
outing .... consider grabbing your camera and heading for the nearest
country or city cemetery and snapping photos of the gravestones.
Remember to also bring a notebook and pen to record the hard to read
inscriptions and make sure to number them to go with the photos. The

Chloe Foutz passed away this week. She was the first LLCGS member I
contacted when I wanted to offer my volunteer work as the LLCGS
website manager. I never met her but I feel like part of the LLCGS
family and so wanted to post her obituary from the Lincoln Journal
Star. I came across it while abstracting the obituaries for the
Nebraska Obituary Abstracts website.

Chloe will certainly be missed, she was so active in LLCGS as well as her
other positions. As one who benefited from her patience and expertise in
genealogy, I enjoyed being a member of LLCGS for the 20 years I was involved in
tracing family ancestry while she was actively involved.
Thanks for the obituary notice, I only saw the brief summary in the Lincoln
Journal.
Sincerely, Muriel Wilkins
