I am pleased to announce the new NE-IRISH mail list at Rootsweb.
The NE-IRISH Discussion List is for the discussion of the Genealogy and
History of IRISH in NEBRASKA from Territorial times to present. This includes
immigrants from all parts of IRELAND to NEBRASKA. Discussion of migration
patterns, immigration, heraldry, historical sketches, settlements, census
data, wills, family Bibles, vital records, web sites, etc. is encouraged.
Also allowed is the discussion of seasonal (holiday) traditions in
The Lincoln-Lancaster County Genealogical Society - Nebraska is hosting a
one-day work-shop on Saturday, October 26th. It is to be held at the Roper
Outreach Center located at the south-east corner of 56th and Pioneers Blvd.
Registration starts at 9:00 A.M. and the last session will conclude at 3:00
p.m. The four sessions will have something for everyone in attendance, each
an in-depth look at: researching land records, the book that is the
genealogist best friend, many ways to dress-up your gen
November 12, 2002, the day following Veterans Day, a program on Veterans
Records will be the next meeting for the Lincoln-Lancaster county
Genealogical Society. The program will feature Luis Guzman, Public Affairs
Officer, Ex-POW and Coordinator, Team Leader U.S. Department of Veterans
affairs. Several members of the society will share their successes in the
search for veterans records.
Meetings are at 7:15 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month in the
