1. Re: [NEBRRoots-L] a good idea? [1]
Craig - You DO sound cynical. I think you have the wrong idea. I believe the information is being made available for people who are seriously researching their ancestors and it is a short cut. Otherwise they would be contacting the funeral home directly. Also - death records are public record so the right to privacy thing does not exist. I believe Genealogical Societies are not for profit organzations and I don't believe any money they receive is going for anything but to maintain valuable historical

Amen to that, Craig! To gain materially abroad from record searches is inexcusable. 3. [NEBRRoots-L] BROZY BUGNO and ANNIE DURACINO [0.982583]
I've been researching Pottawattamie Co, Iowa, and someone at their Genealogical Society told me they found a marriage certificate for BROZY BUGNO and ANNIE DURACINO, married January 1, 1880, Columbus, NE, and were from Poland. Does anyone here have a connection and want that certificate? Mona
4. [NEBRRoots-L] Bird surname [0.982583]
Hello, I am fairly new to Genealogy and was wondering if anyone knew anything about tracing someone of Native American descent My Grandmother swore that her father was a Native American, but I have no idea how to go about finding out if he really was. Any good Nebraska resources on this subject? My Great Grandfathers's obituary read almost like he had been adopted or was not his parents natural child. Cathy

I have had no trouble with SPAM since I quit AOL. I don't really think it is connected to any list. I have several rootslists coming, but no spam for several months. Karen, I would not use the word greed because I don't have the time, money or patience to do what Mary does. Mary is the unpaid "volunteer transcriber" who mentioned the word greed! Now, let's get the list back to genealogy. Dear list Yes, many service providers have filters also. If they are very good then you stand a chance of being bounced or unsubscribed from a list that allows something to sneak through. I have been bounced from Surname Query twice now because of something like this. Both of my providers checked it out and it was something getting through that their screeners didn't like and rejected it. A few rejects and your off the list. 17. [NEBRRoots-L] 1891, 1892, 1893 Omaha Deaths [0.982583]
Last night I was handed three sets of index cards for deaths in Omaha during those three years. The data came from the Health Commission, and in some cases, that is about all that is on the cards: name & death date. In some cases, the cemetery information is also on them. I'd be happy to check the information for anybody who thought some of their family members died during that time period. Please be patient with an answer though, I do 12 hr night shifts when it's my turn to work, and if I get a lot o
