Hi Listers,
I have been looking for my g grandfather, William Michael NEUMAN. This is
how the name appears in FamilySearch IGI record which is their marriage
record. He married Sallie (Sarah) Nunley in Boone County, Missouri on
December 25, 1873. Both were suppose to be from Kentucky. They made their
home in the Centralia, Missouri area.
They had seven children, two girls and five boys. Somewhere the name got
changed to NEWMAN. I have not found any record except the marriage.

In looking through the passenger list of the ship Adventure which arrived
in Philadelphia September 25, 1754, I find not only my immigrant ancestor,
Johannes Liebrich, but also one Joh. Henrich Neumann. In the Liebrich
history in Lancaster county, there are several instances of the use of the
Newman in naming Liebrich children. I've always been interested in the
connection between the two families.
