4. Re: [NZ] Shipping [1]
Hello Judith. We have this sailing of the Charlotte Gladstone on our website (please see URL below). Sailed London November 5th 1871 and arrived Lyttelton February 2nd 1872. The Charlotte Gladstone made three voyages to New Zealand in the early 1870's. We originally had Caroline Skelton listed as Caroline Skilton but have changed this with your information. One thing we like to do is give folk the opportunity to add "thumbnail biographies" to our lists. These are brief potted biographies of the immigrants
5. Re: [NZ] Ship Woodlark 1874 [1]
The "Woodlark" was one of the ships that brought the first settlers to Feilding and the Manchester Block in 1874. There is an excellent book in the National Library published by the Feilding Historical Society called "Swamp, Sandflies and Settlers; Feilding and the Manchester Block, The European Settler Families" by Dorothy Mingins & Dorothy Pilkington. It is available by interloan. Also have you looked at Helen's Page of NZ History http://www.angelfire.com/az/nzgenweb/

Hello Paul, I have seen a WW1 postcard album with a photo titled The Ford, Codford St.Mary. On the back is written: This is only a minutes walk from my hut. That is our parade ground just in front of the footbridge. The little arched bridge is just in front of the Lodge gates which is the entrance to Stockton Park and there is a walk through the centre of it which leads to a little village called Stockton. The album also has a Codford Camp poem and a studio photo of 8 soldiers: Norman McAllister, Jock G
19. [NZ] Bevan family [1]
I am interested in the following family:- William Bevan was Augustine's father. Augustine Bevan was probably born at sea between April 1875 and July 1875 on the voyage to N.Z. He married April 1927, definitely in N.Z. (for the 2nd time). He died aged 52 years in August 1927 (too much excitement?) and is buried at Karori (12/7/1927) It is probably that William was still alive at Augustine's death. Augustine Bevan (son) worked for the N.Z. railways. Augustine's 2nd wife, Minnie Bevan (nee Black) was

I will go to the local library and look for the book Otago Cavalcade and the El Nido Maternity hospital. The birth certificate states she was born at King Street. 25. Re: [NZ] Death Certificate [1]
Hi Jane When advising newbies, it is neccesary to distinguish between BDM "Certificates" and BDM "Entries". The information you have provided below applies to the death "Entry" NOT the death "Certificate" which has substantially less information than the "Entry" A photo copy of the "Entry" can be obtained at the same cost as the "Certificate" which is always what genealogists want. "Certificates" were designed to meet the needs of legal profession. Regards - Terry Hollis, Auckland, New Zealand email:
