I do the same kind of thing. I have an email folder "genealogy," and
periodically I print them all out, archive them on CD and delete them from
my harddrive. The paper copies go into my genealogy file boxes by surname.
Anyone else have similar strategies?

The Hidden Search Capabilities of Familysearch.org
By Nathan W. Murphy, AG
Have you ever wondered what the three mysterious boxes at the bottom of the
search page for the International Genealogical Index do? These often
overlooked boxes labeled Batch Number, Serial/Sheet Number, and Film Number,
provide excellent additional search capabilities not available through
standard avenues. In order to successfully navigate these searches, an
overview of their functions is required. This article will focus on the
This was sent from another list I am on. I typed in Bower and got 64 pages just of that spelling. This is a great site. Gloria
Below is an item that was passed along to me & thought others may find it
helpful/interesting. It is searchable AND you can add an honoree to the list
they are compiling.
Apologies to those who receive this more than once.

You may want to check your HP printer cord and see if it's on the recall
list....
Bunny
While researching my HP printer, I ran across this Recall. I think
everyone with a HP Printer should see if you printer cord is on the
recall list, it sounds like the cord could be dangerous.

Another tip about posting.........
Make sure to sign the guest book on sites and include your surnames.
When I was searching for the Matter/Motter line, I got a response from a 2nd
cousin and it took 3 years after my first posting on the internet........but
with the wait, I was able to put together a Motter Gathering and met almost
100 Motter kin.
So post and post often. And remember to search other surnames that tie into
that line.

Yes, and those entries in guest books show up in search engines. I know
because my brother likes to sign guest books with lengthy entries, and his name
comes up plastered all over search engine results.

Thanks Bunny, I always sign the guest book, no matter what the site is

families".
I also read the entry's on all genealogy and personal sites.
I have found cousins that way also.

African Ancestry Using DNA to Find African Roots

company aims to be able to trace those of African descent back to a tribe or
region on the native continent. They sell two types of DNA tests and claim
to be able to trace at least one bloodline to a specific geographic area in
