My hardest ancestor right now is Reverend William Holmes, who was a "local
minister" of the Methodist Church in SC in the 1850's.....perhaps before
and after. We do know that he was deceased by 1869, as the obituary of his
granddaughter, Mary Collier McKay, in Tampa, Florida refers to him as the
"late" Rev. Holmes.
We do know he had a daughter Sarah A Holmes, b. SC about 1816. She married
Rev./Dr. William E. Collier. They died in Ft. Myers, Florida, in 1886, two
months apart. I have both their obituar
Hi,
I have the book. It has many lines in it. It is well-indexed also. I am
trying to connect to McNeills from NC, and is that ever a tough thing to do!

with their lines.

of my nearly 4 hours there they were calling people to find out where
cemetery records were and who might have info regarding the records for
past sheriffs and town marshalls. Needless to say before I left town I had
been to the sh
