Hi David,
I've been on this list for about a year now and it is relatively quiet.
There have been posts about Newmans in England, Germany and the US.
My main area of research now is Newmans in Ireland. I have amassed quite a
bit of information on the families there in a, so far, unsuccessful attempt
to find where my grgrgrandfather, Michael Newman was from. He emigrated to
the US in 1837 and I haven't been able to find any earlier information about
him.
Eventually, I expect that I may be trac

Hello Fellow Listers,
It's been quite awhile since I last posted a query. I thought I'd post again
and add some of the new information I recently came across. If anyone has
information about Walter's ancestry, please feel free to respond to the list
or contact me privately.
As I mentioned in the subject line, I now know that Walter Wallace was born in
1874 in Waco, TX. He was the son of Mark and Elizabeth (White) Newman. I don't
have any information on Mark or Elizabeth except that Elizabeth was 13 years
Searching for the parents of Walter Wallace NEWMAN b c 1870's in Waco,
McLennan Co., TX. They could possibly be Mark and Elizabeth NEWMAN from
Louisiana. If the names Mark and Elizabeth catch anyone's attention, I would
appreciate your response. I have more data on Walter and his descendants if
anyone is interested. Thanks for your time.

Hello Pat
I am after a NEWMAN ancestor who I have had very little luck with.
Don't think he would be attached to your lot, but here are the details:
Charles Harold NEWMAN born c1835 in Hornchurch, Essex ENG
He arrived in New Zealand c1875.
Disappeared in 1881 after his common law wife died. He turned up again in
1891 when his eldest daughter was married.
After 1891 he disappeared again and I've been unable to find any record of
his death in New Zealand. It's thought he may have gone back to England

Hi, While there is no Dennis Newman in my family line -- that I know of now
-- the Michael Newman I am researching did settle near there -- in Highland
Falls, Orange County -- on the west bank of the Hudson River in about 1837.
I don't have all the Newmans from the passenger lists, and no Dennis,
but there was a Dan Newman, age 29 who came to NY from Great Britain on the
Beaver on 18 Sept 1839.
There is also a Sarah Newman in Lewisboro, Westchester County p.227,

Hi,
I've subscribed to several lists recently, including this one, which all seem to deal only with the United States. I wonder if anyone can tell me, is the list only for the USA, or is it just because no-one from other places has posted a message recently? I don't want to waste other people's time or my own by sending messages to lists which don't really include England.
Thanks.
