RAILROAD ACCIDENT
While a special train, under the direction of Conductor Fred Struck, was
coming south of Lake View, in Sac county, last Saturday about 5:30 p.m. an
accident occurred which was all but fatal. When crossing a public highway,
about two miles north of Wall Lake, the engine struck James WEBSTER, who was
crossing the track with a team and buggy. Mr. WEBSTER was accompanied by
Mrs. WEBSTER, and a sister of Mr. WEBSTER. Mr. WEBSTER escaped with a

At a surprise party given Miss Kate COSAD, of Junius, she was presented a
fine new piano by her parents.
Charles DAY died at his residence in Waterloo Tuesday evening. He was 65
years of age and was formerly a citizen of Auburn. He was a native of
Somersetshire, England, and leaves two sons and three daughters. The funeral
will be held Saturday.

city Friday, about 12 o'clock. The deceased was well known in this city
