The question of SOOLEY vs. SULY is very interesting. I believe that they are variations of the same name. But the question is whether or not the SOOLEYS/SULYs in Heart's Desire/Heart's Content/Heart's Delight are connected in any way to the ones up in Trinity, in particular, Elizabeth SOOLEY or SULY, daughter of Daniel John/John Daniel SOOLEY/SULY and Mary. Elizabeth married James Robert PINSENT. I'm a descendant of James and Elizabeth's daughter Jane PINSENT (or PENSON), who married John BAILEY.

My grandmother was born Mariah (Minnie) Sooley of Heart's Content a blond headed woman.
My mother used to tell me "there was a foreign speaking man" in the family. I have since heard of the story of the Norwegian whaler. I think he was the father or grandfather of my great grandfather William Sooley
Perhaps the reason I had blond hair, now white.

A search of A2A.uk.org the National Archives of tht UK reveals very few Sooleys, Suleys or Sulys but more than 70 references to Sullys. There was a Suly on the Mayflower in 1620.

The blockhouse was known as " Burton's Fort." While in Cushing.
Captain Burton gained his livelihood by tilling the soil. Clam-flats
were near at hand and the river furnished an abundance of fish.
At the outbreak of the French and Indian War in 1754, a large,
pack of Newfoundland dogs was secured.

Dawe went into the family general business at Bay Roberts at the age of 13 and became manager of the firm four years later.
He became managing director when the firm was incorporated as William Dawe and Sons Ltd in 1928 and established a veneer and lumber division of the company.
Dawe was an active public figure during the 1930s and helped establish a system of bartering Newfoundland pitprops
