I'm looking for the family of Captain Hugh W. Simmonds from Harbour
Grace/Caplin Cove. He was apparently the son of James Simmonds....who may
have been the one buried in Harbour Grace United Church Cemetery in 1891.
Hugh is there as well... buried 1918.
Captain Hugh W. Simmonds was probably b. abt 1870 and he had a son named
Bertram Albert C. Simmonds who married Zipporah Gertrude Raymond in Halifax,
Nova Scotia. Both Bertram and Gertrude died in St. John's in 1990 and 1994,
respectively.

Hi Listers!
Looking for ancestors, St. John's, Nfld area (River Head and Goulds) of gr. grandparents Thomas Fling/Flynn (b 1860) and Johanna "Annie" Lonergan (b 1859). Thomas was a twin to Walter Joseph Flynn(e). Believe Thomas died c January 15 1894. Found "Annie" in McAlpine's 1898 Directory listed as "widow" to Thomas. Cannot find anything more on her. Wondering if Annie moved to Nova Scotia when her eldest son James (my grandfather) went to work there in 1901 as a Blacksmith. Maybe she even remar
Good day listers!
First of all, please let me publicly thank Mr. Ernie Kraut for his outstanding assistance in my research. I've often heard that genealogy is not a solitary pursuit, and my experience with the members of this List more than confirm that. Thanks to two members of the List I have filled in gaps in my lineage that have remained blank for forty years despite many hundreds of hours of searching by several members of my family! There was clearly no way I could have accomplished this alone!

Frank Howard Dean was born in Botwood on August 2, 1913, the fifth child of
Israel and Janet (Jewer) Dean. In 1914 the Dean family moved to Horwood
where his father was a millwright with the Horwood Lumber Company and the

Frank, with his mother, brothers and sisters moved back to Botwood in 1934
after the death of his father and he took on the responsibility of providing
for his mother and younger brothers and sisters.
Hope everyone had a great Easter !
I'm tossing my family interests out there in case someone has come
across any names, etc.

The only problem with this is that the name Brigus was in use long before
