Can you tell us where James was born? James was the name of a great uncle of mine , or so I'm told. That Great Uncles would have been born in the late 19th Century though but your James could've been his son, a cousin to my dad. Our lineage goes back to John Nicholson, born in 1860-s-'70's in Norway or Denmark.

Edmund,
Hello, I am searching for family of a Pelima or Polina Nicholson in the
Whitfield or Murray County, GA area that married a Jesse Henderson. By any
chance do you have her listed somewhere in your family? I noticed that
yours was from Whitfield County.
I also worked with a George Nicholson in Dalton.

Yes. horse. I was embarassed that I did not catch the error.
No on your Charles. Nor on my Charles A. who was b. in OH to Silas.
Keep looking though. I now have found about 30 live Nich's of mine.
Tell me again what you know about your GA Nicholsons.
I think at least 5 different families came from NC to Georgia after
the Revolution, so any family names, census data, neighbors' names
become terribly important.

Does anyone know more about the early 1725-70 Nicholsons in the areas
of Philadelphia, Lancaster, Lebanon, Dauphin Co., PA? There were
several Nicholson boys abducted by Indians, some of whom continued
their connections with the Indians by serving as scouts and
translators.

I wish we could help each other, but I can't get past Lewis Nicholson of
Lamar and/or Liberal, MO. late 1800's. So I' m looking at Lewis as a middle
name as that seems to run in the family: Charles Lewis, etc.
