I graduated from Irvington High School and a very kind person was nice enough
to forward to me a copy of our H.S. paper "The Torch" (June 1947). Glancing
thru it I see some pics of people and thought I would send them to the list
in case anybody out there is looking for or have these names in their "tree".

Lauretta,
I used Mapquest.com to look for Holy Sepulchre. All you need to get a map of
the area is a location so I put in South Orange Avenue and Grove Street and
waaalaaaaaaa there is was. You can navigate the map north, east, south and
west and get the whole area.
This too might work for all cemeteries in the U.S.

Hello Newark Researchers,
I am currently doing some web site work which includes testing the chat
room. If anyone is currently on line ( 11:35 PM Eastern Time), please go
to this web page, log in and let's see if we can get the chat room to work.
Thanks,

of Diphtheria, Convusions, Spasms, Scarlet Fever, and lots of
Pneumonia. Also high amount of Measles . Does anyone know about this
period of time and how bad it was. ..

LDS Family Centers can obtain microfilm on burials at Holy Sepulchre
Cemetery in East Orange, NJ.
Take a look at
http://www.virtualnewarknj.com/cemeteries/holysepulchre.htm#Microfilm for an
index. From there you can order microfilms from LDS at your local FHC
Library. I was able to get a lot of good info this way thru them and they
are very nice folks to work with.

Hi Friends:
Can some kind soul look in NYC Library or wherever for a Brooklyn phone
book for the period around 1930 for a family named: GUSBERG. Thank you.

Hi,
I have not been able to find Herman FENNING in the 1920 census using the
addresses I have for him in 1922 or by using any number of
permutations on Ancestry.com's index. I am almost positive that he lived in
Newark in 1920, but I've searched through the NYC metropolitan
areas and suburbs, where some of his siblings lived, just to be sure. Nope.
He's not there either.
If possible, I was wondering if someone with access to a 1920 directory for
Newark, if indeed such a thing exists, could look up Herma
My mother referred to the home in Newark where her Aunt, Alice Gardner
spent her last days as the "Old Ladies Home". Although I went to visit
there, I have NO idea which home for women this was. Aunt Alice was alive
in 1946 in the home, so I know it existed then. Has anyone an idea what
"home" this was ?
