There was the Pitman Grove in Pitman, NJ., also that was the beginning of the
town of Pitman where I was born and raised. Also the cottages as they were
called then were the same kind as at Malaga which is between Vineland and
Franklinville.
The Methodist Hymn writer C. Austin Miles who wrote the song "In the Garden"
wrote it while living at one of the area camp meeting sites. He did live on
Wesley Ave., in Pitman for a while.

Hello List,
I haven't been back to the Bates Mill Cemetery yet, but I did get some info
on the Hopewell Cemetery in Florence. It is located on (old)
Tansboro-Florence rd. now called S. Grove.
Here's abit of history, and a few of the names. I will be going back to both
places and finishing up, so please be patient, my 13 month old and 3 year old
get bored quick, plus the rain.

The first Quaker Meeting House and school was started near this cemetery.

Hello List,
Today was such a great day I went and did a partial of another Cemetery. It
is located on S. ERHKE Rd. Blue Anchor, Winslow Township, Camden Co. NJ
I believe it is called Bates Mills Cemetery, have to locate a contact person
to confirm.
I did the right side as you first walk in. There was alot of very very old
stones that had very faded initials only. The stones appear to be made from
Iron ore. As soon as I find who's in charge of this, I will see if they have
any kind of records on the

Dear List Members:
After all those discussions of several months ago about the big migration of
NJ ancestors to Hamilton Co, Ohio, I just had to forward this message to
everyone. The site listed is a real treasure trove of info for some of NJ's
early family names in Ohio. Joan

Although I was excited to receive copies of my ancestors' newspaper
obituaries, I kept running into a small obstacle: I was given the
newspaper date (the date the obituary was printed), but not the actual
date of death. The text would read: "Sylvania Walker died Saturday
afternoon at her home," or "Mrs. Bettie Warfield, age 49, died of heart
failure early Tuesday morning." Since I didn't know the day of the week
the newspaper printed the obituary, I was unable to
I believe the Town was named for the landing, so they are one and the same,
although there is not much of a town here. It is not much more than an
intersection or two. I would guess the apostrophe is arbitrary. It is
currently in Camden County on the east (?) side of Black Horse Pike, next to
Glendora. It is part of Gloucester Township (still Camden County, though -
confusing, I know) I am not sure if it was ever part of Gloucester County,
although it is quite possible.
I also know of an old cemetery next to Atsion lake, I think there is only one
stone left readable...(looking as i'm Typing)

Does anyone out there know if there is such a thing as a directory of Baptist Ministers and Methodist Ministers that would have been around 1850 to 1875. This would be for New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.
Thank you all ahead of time.
