1. [NJHUDSON-L] BRIGGS [1]
Hi, I have been away from my genealogy research for awhile due to a difficult pregnancy, but my latest (and last) branch of my tree is doing great and I am ready to start my research again. I am looking for any information on a Charles Henry Briggs who was a shoe laster (maker) in Jersey City from 1891 until 1902-03. Charles was married to May (Mary) Agnes McCarthy. Charles Henry lists on his marriage certificate that his parents are, Father-Charles and mothers maiden name-Stella Briggs. On Char

Also, is there an internet address for the Supreme Court Chancery Division in Trenton? Thanks, all. Dan __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 4. Re: [NJHUDSON-L] Families from Arlington and Kearny [1]
I have never heard of a Boeck Street in Kearny or Arlington. I did know two Gillmann boys. One was a grade or two ahead of me and the other was just behind me. Since I do not recall them from school, it is possible they went to a private school. I believe their father was a banker. They resided on Belgrove Drive which is very close to Midland Ave. I also believe the father was the Treasurer for the First Presbyterian Church in Arlington in the late 50's ( I believe it is on Kearny Ave at Laurel Avenue)

11. [NJHUDSON-L] New Jersey Marriage Records [1]
Birth, marriage, and death certificates can be obtained from the State of New Jersey. The address and fees are at www.state.nj.us/health/vital/vital.htm . Vital Statistics generally blocks out the cause of death on the death certificates which it provides; with paperwork it is possible to obtain the cause of death on a lineal ancestor. Records for May 1848 to May 1878 can also be obtained from the State Archives. The Archives does not block out the cause of death. The Archives' address and fees are at

Schuetzen Park is still there on Kennedy Boulevard (at, or near 32nd Street), and the Altenheim was also still there the last that I heard. However, neither of these is near Weehawken. The park is located on the Western edge of the raised section of the Palisades, while Weehawken is under the Eastern side of the raised land.
