To all, I tried to send personal thank yous to those that answered my question about Burial Transcripts, but most 'bounced back'. Dan, Raven Rock is a tiny place near Stockton, NJ, close to the Delaware River. My grandmother is buried near there in Rosemont Cemetery. My uncle once lived on Raven Rock Road. My ancestor, William Silverthorne, who lived in Hunterdon County near High Bridge, married an unknown wife about 1750. She died abt. 1776 and he remarried abt 1780 to widow Mary YOUNG of Lebanon, mother of Matthias (of age in 1794) and Peter YOUNG (a minor in 1794). Jeff, In not all cases is a sexton in charge of a cemetery. Many of our local cemeteries have a board overseeing the management of the cemetery and handling the records. If it is a church cemetery, there may be a church sexton who maintains the property physically and can answer questions. In those cases - you're in luck! There were Conovers in the Pennington NJ area in the 60s. Actually, Garrett Conover graduated from high school with me in 1963! His family was affiliated with the Blawenburg Reformed Church and I believe the church still keeps in touch with them altho they're retired and have moved away. If you get in touch with the church, they may be able to help you. Blawenburg is just outside of Hopewell on Route 518, about half way to Route 206 from Hopewell. Greetings, Is anyone researching the Conovers of Tewksbury? I'm specifically looking for information about the ancestors and descendants of a Garret Conover who may have been born in 1774 and who I last find in the 1850 census in Tewksbury. I believe that Garret's first wife was Mary Elizabeth Apgar (1784-c1818) daughter of Conrad Apgar and Mary Farley. Hi Jeffery, I'm afraid I can't help you with your Youngs or Silverthornes but I simply had to add the comment that I spent six years of my youth living on Silverthorne Rd in High Bridge. Jan, I just had another thought. In case I was off base on what you meant by "a burial transcript", this can also refer to the church book entry for a burial that a church was in charge of. The catholic and Lutheran churches usually have kept church registers of baptisms, marriages and burials, so that would be another source to check besides the cemetery records if you are dealing with an unobtainable death certificate. Dan, Since Mary found them in 1900, here is the 1895 census for this family: Eli M. Conner, white male, age 20-60, Emma R. Conner, white female, age 20-60, Jessie R. Conner, age 5-20, white female. The are listed in East Amwell Township Hunterdon County, between the families of Andrew Smith and Stephen Danberry. Page 29, dwelling house 201. I missed them before because there was no Mettler as a first name, but E. Mettler Conner is as good as Eli M. Conner with the same wife and daughter. Pam Bush
