This is so true about the primary sources being inaccurate. My
GGGrandfather David Myers b. NJ in 1799 is a good example. The MI Death
Index lists his father as Buery Myers, Mother unknown, a Family Bible
lists his parents as William Myers and Martha Parker and the actual
records lists the father as Henry Myers.
I consider the fact that sometimes they go by their middle names
especially if there are others in the family by the same name. David's
son, my GGrandfather William Thomas Myers was known as "Unc

Thank you for your reply. I have no idea if there is a Smith-DeWitt
connection in my line yet. I will be starting a feverish search for the
Smith's listed below in the 1850 Clinton census. When I conquer this
mountain I will post results so others might be able to connect.
Thanks again,

Nancy,
When you're right, you're right. I gave the instructions when I made the
offer only thinking of myself. I've been on your side of the "offer" & it is a
pain to have to go through so many requests. So, lets start putting: HUNTERDON
BIO & then the surnames you're requesting.
I'm sorry for inconveniencing so many people. Sometimes the way you say
things can make all the difference. I guess I should've paid more attention to the
context of the last message & less to the way it was said.

Sue, You may want to check Jan Raub's site for your SHERRED. I just entered
one variation, and got 9 hits. I didn't really dig into the items, but I did
see Greenwich in the brief, multiple times, and this place is near the border of
Hunterdon and Warren Counties, just west of Bloomsbury. It was at one time
part of Hunterdon actually. Here's Jan's url:

just enter your name in the search engine at the bottom of the home page. Be

Hi al
SueB,
I might be interested in your Emans/Emmons line. I only know of one Emmons
in my family, but it is important as there are brick walls.
Kiple Van Camp married Ann Emmans on 12/11/1811 in Hunterdon Co. They had 5
children, Emeline, William, Nelson, Kiple and James Voorhees Van Camp. The
family story dictates that Kiple Sr. died before Kiple Jr was born in Sept.
of 1822.
Unfortunately, I have no further information on Ann other than she may have
died about 1834 or 1835 leaving the children orphans.
