I am seeking to identify the following individuals with the surname of
WENE.
I believe they are all brothers and sisters.
Clara May Wene

Mary Beulah Wene
Walter Edgar Wene
Can anyone tell me the parents of these children? Also, was the
above-
mentioned Elmer H. Wene the N.J. politician who died in Philadelphia

1957? Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks,

Hi List,
Searching for relies we come across, Corporation of Zion, New Germantown in
Hunterdon. This in connection with christenings. Would appreciate knowing
something about this church group. Also, in a description of the Rev

Hello Listers!
I am trying to track down the family of Joseph HILL Jr who married Rachel HIGGINS (Joseph 3, Jedidiah 2, Richard 1). Supposedly Rachel died in 1773 before her father, so was not mentioned in his will. (Her will, Rachel HIGGINS, N.J. Arch, Vol XXXIV, p 244-5 and 438) Would like to confirm she is the dau of Joseph 3 HIGGINS and find out where she married Joseph HILL Jr. Any help appreciated! Thanks! Alison
Dear Marj, Dave and the List-
I have been compiling a descendancy for all the Souders lines in
Hunterdon and Warren Counties (as well as following those branches who
moved into PA.)
I have a Souders family with roots in both counties around 1800.
One son, Joshua Souders, married first a Mary Fishbough in Hunterdon
County, ca. 1815, and second, an Anne Vanderbilt around 1827-1829 in
Alexandria Twp (married by Rev. William Sloan). They moved to Easton,
Pa., around 1830 and in 1855 Anne Souders applied f
This is just a reminder that Mr. Dennis Sutton has posted genealogical
extracts from the the HUNTERDON COUNTY DEMOCRAT -- the main newspaper for
Hunterdon County, published out of Flemington -- for the years 1838-1875.
It has been a very interesting read for me this afternoon, and I have found
many marriage announcements relating to my family. The URL is:

Would like to exchange information with anyone researching the VANDERBELT or
VANDERBILT families of New Jersey and Pennsylvania in late 1700s; early 1800s.
Jacob VANDERBELT was born about 1796. In 1856 he was living in Hunterdon Co.,

attesting to the fact that he witnessed Eleanor's marriage to Joseph DAHR in
1810, Big Springs Church, Newville, Newton Twp., Cumberland Co., PA. I think

I noticed that Heritage is listing two volumes for the 1895 Hunterdon
County NJ state census. Part of the description says it includes an
"original fullname index".
I called their 800 number this morning wanting to know what information
is included in the 1895 state census but the customer service person
couldn't answer any questions and just read the description to me from
the catalog.
I've used the state censuses but can't remember what the 1895 might
include. Can anyone on either of these lists tell

I have James Collin McKinney, b 1735, d 23 Aug 1811 and his wife, Sarah
Boone, b 1735 in my database. I show that they had 12 children of which
Phillip McKinney, b 1759 was believed to be the 8th or 9th child. I am
attempting to learn who Phillip McKinney married and if he had any children.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Greetings,
According to the 1870 Federal Census, a Benage Anthony, farmer, was living in Lebanon TWP, Hunterdon County. He was living with his wife Mary L., three children and a John Harrington. The relationship between John and this family is unknown. John was reportedly age 70 and was a 'huckster' by trade. I suspect that John may be my long lost John Harrington, father of Benjamin Harrington who lived in Tewksbury TWP. Any information on the family of Benage Anthony or John Harrington would be grea

Hello Listers!
Well, in my search for the parents of JOHN HIGGINS, it appears that, despite all the tantalizing clues, that he is not the son of Jonathan 4 HIGGINS (Jediah 3 Jedidiah 2 Richard 1) - since there is no mention of a son John in his will or codicil. Since I had to transcribe the full text so Mom would be able to read it, I thought I'd send a copy of the will, codicil and inventory out to you all, in case anyone else is interested. It includes the names of many of Jonathan 4's grandchildren.

I have been able to identify William Case who married Ann as my gggg
grandfather using the HCHS files. I have only gotten into the first of
ten volumes of Cases thus far. William and Ann had at least 6 children:

Catherine. I do know of a William Case (1758-1852) that married an Anne

tell me if these William Case's are the same?

Hello Listers,
I am wondering if anyone has the book mentioned below and if you could
send me what it says about this will:
"New Jersey Colonial Documents, Calendar of Wills 1801-1805," page 352,
vol. 39. This is the will of Anna Barbara Pickel, wife of Johan
Baltazar Pickel (sometimes spelled Bickel). I believe they are the
parents of the Mary Pickel who married Jacob Bodine.
Thanks,
Dave
