I think that Gloria Palach's(I think that is how you spell her name) information is really very good. My understanding a couple of years ago was that she was going to write another book, but I have never seen anything about it. That website about the Jersey Settlement also gives links to the Smith family information. Judy Arthur

Marshall and all- I don't know that this would answer your questions about Gravesend to Hunterdon, but when I read this posting the other day I immediately recognized Gravesend for that early period as one of the 6 original towns of Brooklyn, and the only one which was English as opposed to the other 5 which were Dutch (Flatbush, Flatlands, Bushwick, New Utrecht and Brooklyn). Gravesend was established by Lady Deborah Moody and a group of Quakers in the 17th century. The Brooklyn Historical Society (est. 18

Duane, You have Ephraim (or is it really Ephiram?) married before he was born. What is his correct birth year? Also, does 9-2-1854 mean September 2nd 1854 or the 9th of February 1854? It helps to use the alphabetical month: jan feb mar apr etc. Pam ----- Original Message ----- From: "Donna DeVoe" To: Sent: Tuesday, February 10, 2004 4:49 PM Subject: [NJHUNTER] Harle / Eich > Ephiram D.
