1. RE: [NJHUNTER] Re;{NJHUNTER} History of E.Amwell 1700-1800 book [1]
I remember Kelsey FORCE he would probably be about 55 or so now as he was older than me, went to school with my ex. Think there was a Robert he went to school with my brother so he would be about 46 or so now. And there might have been a sister, she would have been in school with my sister age about 42 now. The brothers were quite attractive, but one was too old and the other a little too young. Now I have dated myself. See what I can dig up for you. -----Original Message----- From: Justine Peterson [m

5. Re: [NJHUNTER] RE: Mahlon Johnston [1]
Pam, From what you wrote, it appears there must be at least three Mahlon Johnstons. The one you wrote of was born about 1808, while the elder Jacob's son Mahlon was born June 12, 1791. My Mahlon Johnston, was born February 11, 1802, and died June 23, 1875. He is buried along with his wife, Mary and four of their children, at the Norton Methodist Episcopal Church Yard, Norton, Hunterdon Co., NJ. I have also found record of a fourth Mahlon Johnston who married Rachael Hildebrant on March 15,

Dear Phyllis, I'm glad that Snell's history shed a little more light on all those Johnstons. I agree that it is nothing short of serendipitous that the Charles in Snell's account got identified as the Charles listed in the old dictionary. One just never knows what is going to turn up next in ancestor hunting. The 1880 New Jersey census for Washington Twp., Warren Co., NJ shows these Johnstons: William Widner, boatman, 54; Elizabeth, wife, 40 (Elizabeth was my grandmother, Mary Jane Smith Hess)'s sister;
