Dear Hunterdon County Researchers, I was wondering if anyone is close to the
Hunterdon Library or has access to two sources listed as there and
could/would be willing to do a look-up for me? Phyllis D'Autrechy, Some
Records of Old Hunterdon county and Kingwood Baptist Church Records,
1742-1823..for any Aliby(Allaby) records? My ancestor was Isaac Aliby from
Kingswood and I believe he was an Irish protestant, possibly Baptist who
fought initially for the Patriot side and was a spy for them against the

On 19 August, 1778 John Woortman/Wortman was charged with high treason by
the Council of Safety of the State of New Jersey, but it doesn't say which
county. He was charged with being the ringleader of a party of Tories who
had agreed to waylay and capture a party of men and carry them to Colonel
Butler and the Indians. Bergen County, Sussex or Hunterdon seem the most
likely. I've looked various places but have found nothing. Does anyone
have any ideas?
Charlene Talbot
I am not sure if it helps but John Wortman's wife Charlotte, her family
lived at Lamington, NJ.
Chances are John lived and worked nearby.

Alan,
Thank you for your information. Thanks to fellow researchers, I have Mary
Danberry's parents as Peter and Anna (Snook). Mary Danberry was born 1837

Unfortunately, I have very little information on Daniel Fink, other than his
birth year, 1805, and that he was a silverplater. I have no middle initial

I think the William W. Sutton who married Emma J. Goltra was born 27 March
1836 and died 6 February 1918. Comparatively speaking, he is very recent.
His parents were William Sutton

Robert,
Appreciate the offer on the photos. While I'm not directly related to
William (3 cousin 3 times removed) and Emma, I loved a copy of them for
records. My family resided in the Fairmount area until the early 1900s
when my grandfather (Isaiah) moved to Bayonne and married my

Thank you, Jane. I appreciate that information. It appears maybe the
family had moved by 1895. I found George's parents in Bucks County,
now, and that was good. I may put in a NJ and/or PA Census request
on the corresponding census email lists.
Thanks again,
Vince

Does anyone happen to know where I can view the roster of Company F -
31st Infantry Regiment of the Civil War. In the book "History of

were mustered in from both Hunterdon and Warren Counties.
Captain Peter Hart is interred at Finesville Cemetery, Warren County.

Hoffman headstones. Who are you looking for specifically? When I go back
