7. [NJHUNTER] Can you help solve the LANCE family mystery? [1]
Records from two publications indicate that John Peter LANCE b 1708 Germany, d 1771 NJ, came to America about 1738. There is an indication that ANTHONY LANCE b1798 d 1835 is a decendant of John Peter ANTHONY appears to have had only two children, John and Jacob. No records seem to exist for their marriages or offspring. Best guesses on dates of birth for the two boys is between 1820 and 1825. William LANCE, b 1820 married a CHARLOTTE or SHARLOTTE of unknown last name. Willim's first son, b 1852
8. [NJHUNTER] Cemetery confusion [1]
I would appreciate some help from the list if possible. I have been researching the Crum family. I have found references to the West Amwell Churchyard, Lower Amwell Cemetery and Dunkard Churchyard. Am I correct that these are all the same place? There also some Crums at Sand Brook which I gather is the offshot church down the road. But a reference to the German Baptist Cemetery has me stumped. Is that another name for one of the above or is this a third location. If so, where is this German Baptist Cemete

15. [NJHUNTER] Hunterdon Co records [1]
Would those VERY familiar with Hunterdon Co court records explain the index(s) used. I have used the card files in the basement archives and wonder if there are other documents in the courthouse not included in this card file. When the estate file, as microfilmed, does not include the inventory noted on the case folder, is it possibly somewhere else? This estate had a will and was incumbered and had a few suits against it as some of the land was ordered to be sold. Thanks Phyllis Vannoy Spiker

"New Germantown" is a village located in Tewksbury Township, Hunterdon County. According to J. P. It was called "New Germantown" about 1753, when the Germans gained their ascendancy". The "Zion Corporation" refers to the united churches of Zion and St. Paul. Better yet, why don't you contact the newspaper and see if they'll write up a feature article about your search for your family history. Maybe someone who knows of the Bible will respond. Better yet - you may get some responses and find some ancestors you didn't know you had! Try writing the story on your own and submit it to them for rewrite. Never hurts to ask! Try The Hunterdon County Democrat, too. Sharon Moore Colquhoun Belle Mead NJ "Wallace W. Poole" wrote: > WHY NOT TRY TO ADVERTISE IN THE

Dave, don't forget to also try Somerset County. There are LaBaws in Montgomery Twp and they've been here for hundreds of years. Bill LaBaw (the elder - there are two of them) could probably fill an encyclopedia with info on your family. I would suggest that you contact one of them soon as Bill is elderly and lives with a health aide. Contact me off the list and I'll give you more info. There was a Rev. Peter Labagh (1772-1858) who was the minister of the Harlingen Reformed Church in Belle Mead from 180
