I have pretty much filled in what I need to in this line, but I have a real sticking point. I have my g-g-grandfather James S. Manners married to Eunice Eura Manners abt 1844 in Hopewell. Eunice is the daughter of John Schenck Manners and Penelope Van Princess Stout - that side is not a problem. I can find no indication as to who was the father of James S. Manners. There is a misc. event in the International Geneneaologial Index in 1816, but no parents are shown. From the dates, I suspect this is a birt

I am looking for information on the GRANDIN family who lived in Hunterdon Co. during the mid 1700's. I have an Edward GRANDON in Greene, PA in 1781, with a supposed son William, born about 1774. They came to Greene with a group of settlers from NJ. I can't find the parents of either one. The common family names were: William, Bernard, Samuel, Edward, Susannah, and Jane. Hello listers, I have a funeral card for my Great-grandfather's brother, Stacy G. Sherman. It says he was affiliated with the Wickcheoche Tribe, No. 24, I.O.R.M. He lived from 1860-1947. Does anyone know about this Tribe? Was/Is it some kind of Lodge, or could it really be a branch of American Indian.......please, even the slightest bit of info would be of interest to me. Hi Jeff and List: From Snell's "History of Hunterdon and Somerset Counties, New Jersey", p. 353 the following background of the MANNERS family is given. The MANNERS family, closely connected with the Stouts by marriage, was one of the earliest in the township. (The township referred to was East Amwell.) an Almar G. Cole and Anna Hoffman Cole listed under the Cole Grave yard? Sorry, no. I checked other lists also, and I only found two named Anna, and no Almar or Almar G. Have your written to: Hunterdon County Historical Society, 114 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822? They have a card file indexed by surnames for the other cemeteries.
