Hi all,
The full history of the Clover Hill Church can be found on the Family
History Library Film #0888732 which includes the building of the church,
officiary of the church, marriages, baptisms, deaths, etc.
I have a booklet of "The One Hundredth Anniversary of the Clover Hill
Reformed Church, 1833-1933" which gives 5 pages of "Historical Outline". It
mentions that "Rev. Schenck was installed as the first pastor of Clover Hill
Church November 25, 1835." Also mentions Peter C. Schanck and Abraham C.
Hi All,
Now that I finally copied "The One Hundredth Anniversary of the Clover Hill
Reformed Church, 1833-1933" I realize that I'm missing the names of some of
you who made the request for a copy. I have sent copies to Calabash,
Merchantville and Houston. Please let me know if you would like a copy.
Sorry.
Barbara

Perry,
The earliest reference I've seen is in Nathan Stout's "History of the Stout Family," 1823. That would be about 100 years after the marriage. He lists Elizabeth Larrison as David's wife. Any actual marriage record might be found in the Hopewell Baptist Church records. I believe I've seen some reference to an LDS microfilm on the church records.

Gary,
Thanks for your inquiry in regards to Cornelius MYERS. We're in the
process of moving, so I haven't done much genealogy. We've made no
progress on Cornelius, but have found family for his wife Hannah FRENCH.
Her father was Jeremiah FRENCH, Pvt. NJ Rev War, b 12 June 1762, NJ.,
died 22 July 1834 of Cholera in Cincinnati, OH. Mother: Hannah Finch
WILLIAMS. Grandparents: John WILLIAMS and Hannah FINCH.
The 1850 Delaware Tsp census shows a John MIERS, age 66 who was a
farmer,
I have a "Honeyman's Justice" book by A. Van Doren Honeyman 1924. It
concerns the laws of New Jersey..such as the "Slaying of Woodchucks",
"Bicycles", "Shipwrecks", and "Drunkards"..etc. This book was owned by my
grandfather Chas. W. Young, Justice of the Peace in Hopewell Twp. He was a
descendent of Emerson Brooks from New York.
Unfortunately, no names as such, just some interesting laws.

Can someone tell me where I can locate a transcription of, or better yet

Thank you for the information. I am fairly new at genealogy and am not
familiar with where to obtain certain information. Is Family History
Centers a CD to be purchased?

Hi Lorrie,
No one seems to know anything about Tillie Dilley, George Hendershot or
their children. I have posted on several L-lists. I am still trying to
locate the first child they had before George Leroy. I know the child
existed.
I will share all the info I get.

This petition was quoted in the book, "Pioneers of Old Hopewell", on p.
111, by Ralph EGE, originally printed in 1908, as you have it in your
letter. The author follows with: "It is not known whether the petition was
acted upon at that time or laid over, but it is a matter of record that only
seven years had elapsed before the road was again brought to the attention
of the authorities, and this time in a manner that doubtless secured the
necessary improvement. The following is a copy:

Hello,
I am researching my GGrandfather who lived in the Flemington area in 1920. I have been unable to locate him using the index on ancestry and I was hoping someone on this list would have access to a directory around that time span. His name in JOHN NEES. Thank you for any help.

I forgot to tell the Schanck researcher that you also
need to check Neshanic and Harlingen. Most of the
early families are intermarried (wow, don't we know
that?!) so you need to check both of those listings as
well. They aren't far apart geographicly and they
were linked by many intermarriages.
All the Hillsborough cemeteries were "read" a few
years ago. There are also earlier inscription
indexes.

I have found numerous web sites that identify the wife of David-3 STOUT
(Jonathan-2, Richard-1) as Elizabeth GARRISON; others identify her as
Elizabeth LARISON.
By what primary source(s) can Elizabeth's maiden name be established as
GARRISON or LARISON with some degree of certainty?
I am researching the early GARRISONs of Hunterdon Co., NJ with the
assistance of several correspondents. I have found multiple points of
association between the BARBER, BURROUGHS/BURROWS, FOSTER, GARRISON,
HIGGINS, HOWELL, OL
Hi, folks....
I've added a listing of marriages at the First Methodist Church, 2nd Street,
Easton, PA, to my web site. This listing covers a period from 1836 to 1885.
There are many Warren County marriages, and quite a few Sussex and Hunterdon
marriages, as well. A huge caveat before you send for marriage
documentation: I do not know if the marriages all took place in Easton,
with the NJ folks crossing the river to get to the church, or whether the
minister crossed the river, but kept the records in Ea
Hi, folks...
Al Hosbach has shared with me a picture of his mother's school when she was
in 1st or 2nd grade, in about 1924. The photo is of the children of the
one-room Spring Mills School, Holland Township, Hunterdon County. You can
see this photo, along with the names of almost all the children, at

It's really great how helpful people are on these
lists. I've had lots of great responses to my own
inquiries. To those of us who actually still LIVE in
the area, though, it sometimes is humorous when we see
directions posted incorrectly. The funniest one was
when the movie "The Crossing" was airing and someone
wrote to the lists that "there is a place a little
north of Trenton and it's called Washington's Crossing
and it's right about where he crossed the river".
Imagine that!

There was a Daniel VANBUSKIRK who was one of three persons appointed by
the court in Flemington on 8 Feb 1793 to divide the lands of Isaac ROBINS
who died intestate.

Can anyone provide a full quotation of the marriage record of Joseph BARBER

appeared that Jemima BURROUGHS married *William* BARBER rather than *Joseph*
