Hi Susan,
I see from below that you already have the will of Elizabeth Opdycke
Arnwine. I may look it up anyway, and also the will of John A. Carroll who,
like his grandmother was long-lived.
On the subject of Amy Myers, I do have her in my records as the
granddaughter of Simon Myers. Simon's land was well north of Headquarters,
north of Sandbrook also. It was near Buchanan's Tavern, if that means
anything to anyone.
I doubt that Amy inherited much property. Grandfather Simon's land got
pretty well divided
Diane,
I don't have an answer for you, but my suspicions are that the Elizabeth
STOUT who married John WARFORD may belong to this batch of STOUTS(see the
Elizabeth STOUT, #3):

Well, when I refer to Samuel Green, I'm talking about the surveyor (born
about 1675 in England, died 1760 in Johnsonburg) who lived in Maidenhead,
them Amwell, then moved north to Sussex County and from whom most of the
Warren/Sussex Greens descend.

Bob,
I know very little about the Cozad family other than what my
daughter-in-law's family tells me. I know that they were from the NJ and PA area. I will ask
what else they know of their family and the relationship to the railway. As
for Mary Cassatt, I only know her from teaching art history for years, as a
woman from a wealthy PA family who chose to live in Paris and work as an artist.
She was a friend of Degas and was instrumental in collecting impressionist
art and promoting it to her America
Hello List!
I've been watching the recent posts regarding the movement of people from
Hunterdon Co to other states namely Pennsylvania and New York with great
interest because it sort of mimics what may have happened in my family. I
believe my Boss' may have originated in Hunterdon Co. but so far I lack any
proof.
For some time now I have researching William Boss born approx. 1825 or 1826
in Pennsylvania. His father according to one census record was born in New
Jersey. He is related to a Gilbert Boss

Does anyone know anything further about the Fonner family, specifically
the family of Christian Fonner (widow of William) whose will was dated

Nancy,
The Family History Center of the LDS has microfilms of early Hunterdon
County marriage certificates (1795-1900) listed by the person who performed
the marriage. I've been going through them looking for a marriage in my
line. I haven't gotten to the S's but the identification for that microfilm
is: Film #807006. If you have access to a Family History Center it might
be worthwhile to take a look at the original marriage certificate.

Robert- Thank you a lot for these two listings as they are probably very significant and need to be on our lists. It shows that there were at least two Lefler/Lafler--Dils/Dilts marriages there. Also that Christopher Lefler- Margret Angil marriage-can't decide if his name is Christian or Christopher, or if its the same either way. My Christopher b. 1791 in Oxford could have been named for him as could the Christopher of Harmony b 1795(?). Bob Lefler of Paul Smiths

Not necessarily. It depends on the time frame. I have an ancestor's
sister, Molly Woolever, and she was never called Mary. This was during the late
1700s/early 1800s.

Thanks for checking...
If I find that I _am_ connected to the Fonners (which at the moment is
possible but unproven) I'll get back in touch.

Thanks for posting that, Marshall. It may shed a little light on the
Snyder/Pegg connection. The Hunterdon Snyders are quite confusing from the
sources I've reviewed. Does anyone think they have managed to untangle them?
